Yes, good idea, Martha, but such a children's book was published in March of this year: "Trees Make Perfect Pets." I ordered a copy for my grandchildren, Avery Grace and Caden, and read it to AG via Facetime.
Not sure why you wouldn't be getting notified when I post. You are on the list as following my blog via your e-mail address. Maybe your notifications are going to spam?
'Cherokee Princess' is a pretty cool name (and my favorite aunt had some Cherokee DNA), but the possible political incorrectness of it did trouble me some; there are pink dogwood varieties named: 'Cherokee Chief' and 'Cherokee Brave.' Here's a fun fact: 2 of the 3 Singing Tree crew who planted 'Princess Emily' have partners named "Emily"!

Holy smokes, MD! So, what you ended up with was Princess Emily. Not Princess Cherokee - though I gotta admit I love the name. Obviously, I should've waited until reading all of your posts at one sitting. The thing is, I've not been receiving notifications when you post. Your saga sounds like the potential storyline for a children's book!

In reply to <a href="https://maureendunphy.com/the-dogwood-chase-part-1/#comment-275">Jeanne SO FIT</a>.

Thank you, Jeanne! It's been like a mystery and Tuesday was pretty thrilling. The pandemic's brought even more allure to visiting a tree nursery! She's the sweetest arboreal being I've had the pleasure to meet. Maybe when we walk Saturday, you can take a peek, yes?
